Aqua Based Technologies™, a division of ADM Tronics, has a complete line of water-based coatings for packaging and converting which are very useful in improving functional properties such as high scuff, water, grease, and oil resistance. Our coatings can also be used as ink vehicles to produce water-based inks with high adhesion levels to various substrates.

All of our coatings are water-based and are in compliance with the strictest regulatory requirements and formulated from ingredients found on FDA lists cleared for food packaging.

Aqua Based Coatings

Aqualene® 3212 Release coating for baking and frozen foods. Repulpable with excellent resistance to oil, grease and moisture. Produces a clear, smooth glossy coating for a wide range of demanding paper packaging applications including dry food, dairy, bakery, powder, meat, ice cream, and frozen food.

Aqualene® 3220 Repulpable coating formulated for high heat including microwave packaging. Excellent resistance to oil, grease and moisture. Produces a clear, smooth glossy coating for a wide range of demanding paper packaging applications including dry food, dairy, bakery, powder, meat, ice cream, and frozen food. Can be used for cup, box, plates, pouch and other packaging structures.

Aqualene® 4343 Premium, re-pulpable, water-based coating with good product resistance characteristics for use with a wide range of demanding paper packaging applications. Produces a clear, smooth, glossy and durable surface while delivering excellent flexibility for scoring folds.

AquaCote™ 1098 Non-silicone, heat-resistant for applications which require heat release without the use of silicones. Improves adhesion and printability on foils.

AquaCote™ 1010 Glossy, clear, heat resistive aqueous overcoat for flexible packaging, folding box and general converting applications. Contains no zinc.

Aqualene® 3226 bio: Economical, biodegradable, repulpable coating which heat seals at 300-350F. FDA 175.320

Aqualene® 3226JL:  Premium biodegradable, repulpaple, heat seal with high OGR for use with paper, board and film. Use for paper cups, plates, bags, food packaging, medical packaging, flexible packaging.

Aqualene® 3228 bio: (Urethane) Biodegradable, repulpable coating which heat seals at 300-350F. FDA 175.105.

Aqualene® 5000 bio: Heat seals at 300F. Can be modified to heat seal between 250-400F. Biodegradebale, repulpable. Use for food packaging, pharmaceutical, lidding stock. FDA 175.320

Aqualene® 3230: Low temperature heat seal coating. Heat seals at 250-300F. FDA 175.320

Aqua Multilam ™6000 bio: For combination heat seal/pressure sensitive. FDA 175.320

AquaBlock ™1000: Heat seal blocker. FDA 175.320

Aqua Flame Block™ 1800: Flame resistant coating for paper.

Aqua Flame Block™ 2760: Flame resistant coating for paper, film and vinyl.

AquaCote™ 1550 Aqueous coating for polymer films. A clear, non-blocking coating with high ink adhesion levels for polyester, (Mylar) polyethylene, vinyl, foil, nylon, paper and board.

Santel® 180-7H Clear, glossy overcoat which exhibits high adhesion levels to a variety of non-porous and porous surfaces including polyester (Mylar) polyethylene, vinyl, foil, nylon, paper and board.

Santel® 504-L High performance, water and grease resistant aqueous barrier coating for multi-layer construction. Excellent weathering stability when exposed to frequently changing environmental temperature and pressure conditions.
